This week, we are focusing on tile with organic textures.
While textured tile has been trending for a while, this year is somewhat different. Unlike the angular geometric patterns and textures we’ve seen in the past, organic textures look more as if they were created by hand — or even formed by a natural occurrence.
Perfect Imperfection: Handmade Tile
The organic, uneven surface of these handmade tiles is matched by equally beautiful irregular coloring, called variegation. As each tile has a unique quality, the installation as a whole has an even more striking impression.
Raindrops on Tile
The mesmerizing dots of this textured tile have us imagining the pitter-patter of raindrops. Combined with the calming neutral colors and the leaf-like design on the adjacent wall, the organic texture helps create a perfectly tranquil sanctuary.

Can you hear the echo of the wind in this spacious master bath? Maybe not, but you can certainly see ripples that look as though they were created by wind on these gauged porcelain tile panels/slabs. The effect softens the otherwise minimalist design of the room.
River Rock Tile
If you’re fighting the urge to reach out and touch these mosaic tiles, you’re not alone. They remind us of rocks you’d find at the bottom or a river or stream — smoothed and rounded by the constant flow of water.

Wood Grain Tile
