Since National Tile Day, we’ve been flaunting our #WhyTileStyle with a weekly spotlight of 2019’s most anticipated tile trends. Each trend has helped us count down the weeks to Coverings ‘19, the preeminent event for the North American ceramic tile and natural stone industry (yes, we’re that excited!).
The weeks have flown by as we’ve mused on wood-look tile, geometric tiles and pattern play, dark marble-look tile, gauged porcelain tile panels/slabs, floral and leaf tile, and mirror tile.
Coverings takes place next week, which means we have just one trend remaining to highlight before the show! And, we promise, you won’t be able to resist it. Go ahead, reach out and FEEL this week’s trend: textured tile.
This tile style will excite your senses like no other. You’ll be impressed with textured tile’s durability and versatility and the variety of shapes, colors, and size options (as usual with ceramic tile); and then this tile takes your style to another dimension. Here are some examples we found on Instagram to prove it.
Desert Terrain Tile
Inspired by Namibian landscapes, you can bring the textures and rich colors of desert terrain to your home. This tile would be stunning as a living room feature wall or as a backdrop for displaying souvenirs and relics.
All-White Domino Tiles
Domino-like tile proves walls can be playful and fun!
The use of both concave and convex space gives this tile a complex pattern, as the all-white color plays shades of gray in the shadows yet retains a monochromatic look.
What makes these tiles much better than actual dominoes? With ceramic tile’s easy care and many benefits, everybody wins!
Lines in the Sand Marble-Look Tile
This tile calls you to reach out and touch it as much as toes in the sand do — and it even has the appearance of natural ripples in the sand from a wave-tossed beach.
The use of large tile panels with minimal grout lines gives the wall a continuous, uninterrupted appearance, and the sporadic marble-look veining evokes reflections in the water.
Brain Tile
We never thought we’d see brain tile, but once we came across it, we couldn’t help but admire this unique style. Plus, it proves once again that there are endless possibilities with ceramic tile, and that tile is a smart — or should we say brainy? — choice!
Textured Rosette Tile
This blue-gray tile kitchen backsplash features a three-dimensional rosette pattern that’s absolutely refreshing. When the flowers on the counter are long gone, this floral textured tile will still be just as uplifting as it is now.
More textured tile is waiting to inspire you in our Design Gallery and on our Textured Tile Pinterest board.
Which 2019 tile trend is your favorite — wood-look tile, geometric tiles and pattern play, dark marble-look tile, gauged porcelain tile panels/slabs, floral and leaf tile, mirror tile, or textured tile?
We’re sure at least one of these trends has you thinking about a new tile project. Show us your projects on Instagram with a #WhyTileStyle shoutout!
