We’ve been celebrating National Tile Day with a weekly highlight of one of the most anticipated tile trends for 2019. So far, this journey has brought us wood looks, geometric tiles and pattern play, dark marble looks, gauged porcelain tile panels/slabs, and florals and leaves.
With less than two weeks remaining before Coverings ‘19 — the North American ceramic tile and natural stone industry’s event of the year — we have two more spectacular trends to highlight!
Seeing is believing — this 2019 decor trend will add to your interior style and (literally) multiply it: mirror tile. Here’s some design inspiration from Instagram that best depicts this style’s creativity and versatility.
Hexagon Mirror Tiles
Hexagons are a time-honored popular tile shape and when combined with mirror tile, all six sexy sides make a strong and beautiful statement.
With tiles so unique, you can create a full feature wall for all the drama, use the tile in a small space to draw attention, or maybe choose the staggered/unfinished look of this example where your tiles create an organic shape on the wall instead of stopping at the wall joints. We love how certain tiles pop, depending on how they pick up the light in the room or what they are reflecting.
Wet-Look Herringbone Mirror Tiles
Another mirror tile feature wall, but with a completely different look.
The herringbone tiles in this photo already look like they’re cascading down the wall and this is amplified by the “wet look” of the mirror tile. The combination of these two elements creates a wall with a stunning waterfall effect; and even if you can’t hear the trickle of the water, it produces an equally soothing visual vibe.
Glamorous Metallic Mirror Tiles
Oh, mirror, mirror, on the WHOLE wall — surely, this design is the fairest of them all!
In this example, a metallic effect is overlaid onto the mirror tile to give it a smoky, shimmery surface. Unlike other instances of smoke and mirrors, this ceramic tile is the real deal, and the result couldn’t be more glamorous.
3D Oxidized Metal-Look Mirror Tiles
A metal-look overlay is also used with this mirror tile but with a dramatically different intent.
In this example, the tile is 3D and has more of an oxidized metal look. Rather than a glamorous metallic style, we get a very urban vibe that reminds us of being downtown in a large city.
Mirror and Marble-Look Tile Mosaic
This mirror and marble-look tile mosaic shows just how versatile mirror tile can be. These curvy mirror tiles add just the right amount of glamor to the bathroom, without the boldness of a full mirror effect.
